T-metropolitana Free pink card
Description
T-metropolitana is a plastic card with contactless technology, just like T-mobilitat. There are three T-metropolitana categories: the T-metropolitana Free pink card, the T-metropolitana Reduced-fare pink card and the T-metropolitana Companion pass.
The T-metropolitana Free pink card is a personal and non-transferable travel card that allows unlimited journeys within the Barcelona Metropolitan Area. As this is a personal card, in the event of an inspection, you must prove your identity with your national ID document or NIE.
Operators and area covered
The T-metropolitana Free pink card can be used throughout the metro network (including the airport T1 and airport T2 stations on the L9 Sud line), on regular TMB bus lines, on the tram, on AMB bus lines (except Aerobús) and on FGC lines within the metropolitan fare area.
Requirements
It can be requested by people who are registered in any municipality in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area and are over 60 years old (this age varies according to the municipality) with a gross family income below the established limit or by people who have a recognised disability equal to or greater than 33%.
See, on the page T-metropolitana of AMB website, the income limit and the age from which you can request this card.
Application
You can apply for it:
- By post: download, complete and send the application form using the envelope, which you also need to download.
- Online: if you have a digital signature, you can complete the process via the AMB website.
You will be granted either the T-metropolitana Free pink card or the T-metropolitana Reduced-fare pink card, depending on your income.
Price
The physical T-metropolitana card costs 4.50 euros. This is a one-off payment and you only need to pay if you are getting the Free pink card for the first time.
The administration costs for the T-metropolitana Free pink card are paid through an annual fee. You may see its cost at the T-metropolitana webpage .
