Partial closures on metro lines L4 and L11 during the summer of 2025

Once again this summer, we are suspending service on certain metro sections to carry out improvement works aimed at enhancing comfort, speed and safety on your journeys.

From June 25 to September 7, 6 kilometers of track will be renewed, which will require cutting the service on some sections of L4 and L11.

• From June 25 to August 31, the section of L4 between Verdaguer and Trinitat Nova and the section of L11 between Trinitat Nova and Casa de l'Aigua will be closed.
• From September 1 to 7, the section of L4 between Maragall and Trinitat Nova and the section of L11 between Trinitat Nova and Casa de l'Aigua will be closed.

These works will reduce the number of incidents, as the track will be completely renewed, including the replacement of ballast with concrete. Additionally, the renewal will allow TMB to carry out more efficient maintenance and solve some vibration issues in the area. During the service interruption, a new ventilation shaft will also be built in Guinardó, which will serve as a material extraction shaft during the works.

In addition to the work, there is the renew of the signaling on this section of line 4 with a series of actions. Specifically, a new track switch will be installed at Maragall, and new signaling systems will be put into operation at Trinitat Nova, Via Júlia, Girona, and Maragall. The new track switch will provide more operational flexibility as it will allow trains to switch tracks if necessary.
